With over three decades of combined experience in real estate and over $350 million in home sales together, Katie + John formed their partnership to provide their clients with the best possible service as they seamlessly guide them through the process of buying, selling, and renting in Los Angeles. Katie, a native Angeleno, and John, a transplant of the Northeast, share a love for Los Angeles and its incredible architecture. Their passion for helping people with their home search or sale is exemplified by the enthusiasm and focus they bring to every transaction. Katie is a native Angeleno who has devoted the past 20 years to working in real estate. Born and raised in Santa Monica, Katie attended Brentwood School and then the University of Colorado Boulder, where she studied psychology. Right after college, Katie’s interest in architecture and interior design led her to a job working for a seasoned agent at a top real estate firm in Beverly Hills. There, Katie became versed in the many facets of the business and went on to become an agent at the company. Several years later, she joined Nourmand & Associates, where she was consistently a top producing agent in her Hollywood office. Katie is currently an agent at Compass, where she partners with John Podhor. Her enthusiasm for her work, her candor, wit, and attention to detail make her stand out as an agent. Katie has a deep understanding of the LA real estate market, always puts her clients’ needs first, and treats every clients’ home search or sale as if it were her own. During her two decades in real estate, Katie has worked with a wide range of buyers and sellers and has sold properties all over Los Angeles.

Born and raised in the Northeast, John brings an East coast sophistication and work ethic to the Los Angeles real estate market. He began his career in real estate working as an assistant to a top producing agent. After learning the ropes of the business, John set out on his own. He has become an expert in his city, a seasoned listing agent, and is consistently well reviewed and recommended by his buyers. He combines honesty, integrity, and professionalism with creative & innovative ideas to consistently close deals and ensure his clients are confident in their real estate dealings and investments.  John works as a full time agent at the Compass office located in Hollywood. He is well known and respected by his peers in the professional community. Prior to beginning his career as a real estate agent, John earned a BS in Marketing Communications from Emerson College. He also held corporate positions in branding and channel marketing at Southwest Airlines and Samsung Mobile.

DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS + BUYER’S AGENT

Born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Alex is no stranger to good weather and beautiful neighborhoods. She graduated from Boston's Emerson College—where she met John—with a degree in Media Studies and Marketing, putting it to good use in her first eight years in Los Angeles. She’s worked on a feature documentary film, a talk show based out of Nashville, and many other high profile talent-based projects. With a deep appreciation for people, properties and the city of Los Angeles, Alex decided to change industries and obtain her real estate license. She began her career as the Director of Operations for Crain + Podhor in early 2021, assisting in well over 100 seamless transactions to date. Passionate and driven, she joined the team at Compass as an Agent and is continually learning while enjoying meeting and helping new people along the way.
